I am a mechanical engineer and International Welding Engineer (IWE) — and I know what buyers in plant construction need because I am one myself. I have been purchasing these components for my own projects for years.
Lohmann Supply is the logical consequence of over 15 years in plant construction: direct access to suppliers I know personally — for customers who have the same requirements as I do.
Why Turkey?
Twelve years, 82 trips, dozens of companies — I have been to Turkey this often to meet suppliers, check quality, and conduct business. Five of those years as a quality manager and welding engineer for an Austrian machinery manufacturer: Some companies had to be built up first — quality systems, processes, testing procedures. Others were from the start at a level that I have rarely encountered so clearly structured in Central Europe. With these, it was a matter of coordination — ensuring that we speak the same language when it comes to tolerances, documentation, and delivery reliability.
Artim Metal and Darhan belong to the second category. I did not develop them — I selected them.
As a project manager, I regularly saved 30% or more on material costs by purchasing in Turkey instead of Austria and Germany — transport costs and customs already included. In projects such as gas and steam power plants, direct air capturing systems, and hydropower plants, where the requirements for components allow no compromises.
What this means for you
Turkey is not weeks away by ship. We deliver to Austria and Germany in 1–2 weeks — compared to 2–3 months from Asia. Additionally, there is a short supply chain: The goods come directly from the manufacturer, without intermediaries adding margins. We pass these savings on.
